WILDFISH OIL with High concentration of Omega-3 fatty acids EPA 350 mg & DHA 250 mg, 600 mg per capsule protected by antioxidant NOXVP complex: Phosphatidylcoline - Astaxanthin - Vitamin E

Exclusive* and superior antioxidant formula designed by a group of Quebec expert researchers in Dietary Biochemistry.

Why so much interest in fish oils? Cold water fish oils contain long-chain, polyunsaturated fatty acids of the Omega-3 type, that have considerable beneficial effects on the human body. Many clinical studies have shown their preventive and protective effects against heart ailments. Recent research has shown the benefits of Omega-3 fatty acids in helping alleviate inflammatory ailments and also in increasing the function of the brain (mood and other similar states). The main Omega-3 fatty acids responsible for these benefits are EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). EPA can be either converted into natural anti-inflammatory molecules, into DHA or can also integrate itself into cell membranes. DHA can also modify cell membranes and therefore enhance their function. There is an extremely high concentration of DHA in brain cells. Contrary to popular belief, the vegetable Omega-3 fatty acid, alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), is practically not converted into EPA and DHA and does not have the same health attributes as those found in Omega-3's from marine source.

Normally we find in marine fish the lipids required for our needs in long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids of the Omega-3 type, but unfortunately we are being faced with this serious environmental problem where these fish show different degrees of contamination from heavy metals and pesticides. Eating those fishes is therefore problematic and represents a certain risk to the consumer's health. That is why taking a high-quality supplement of marine Omega-3 fatty acids is strongly recommended as a source of Omega-3's to meet nutritional needs.

Oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids is probably one of the most under-estimated problems related taking fish oils. Indeed, once fatty acids become oxidized, they turn into harmful molecules that trigger different ailments in the body (for example, cardio-vascular diseases). As a solution, some companies add synthetic antioxidants (BHT, BHA, ascorbyl palmitate, etc.) to their formula. However, it is suspected that some of these synthetic antioxidants have carcinogenic effects. Other companies will add Vitamin E, however if Vitamin E isn't in the presence of a more powerful antioxidant that can protect it, it can oxidize and transform into a harmful agent that will cause the Omega-3 fatty acids to oxidize also.

The wild fish oils used in Ocean+ Omega3, delivering a high EPA (350 mg) and DHA (250 mg) content for a total of 600 mg per capsule, are protected in 3 different ways by adding phosphatidylcholine, astaxanthin and Vitamin E.

Phosphatidylcholine (30mg) : the phospholipids possess the unique property required to break up peroxides (radical free) formed by oxydation. Thus they contribute to protect the Omega-3 fatty acids and to reduce the oxidative stress. Moreover, the phospholipids are important components of the cellular membranes and they support the absorption of the lipids while acting as emulsifying agents.

Astaxanthin : very powerful antioxidant. Astaxanthin (ZANTHIN®*) present in Ocean+ Omega3 is a natural carotenoid extracted from the algea Haematococcus pluvialis by using a patented process. This pigment has one of the most powerful antioxidant (slows down the aging process) activity. Results obtained from an analysis made by using the ORAC test (see table below) show that its antioxidant activity is 500 times superior to that of Vitamin E. It has been proven that astaxanthin spreads more easily in the body when it is part of a formula providing a lipidic base. Vitamin E : antioxidant. The presence of natural Vitamin E combined to all the other antioxidants causes an antioxidant chain reaction extremely favourable and insures a remarkable protection for the Omega-3 fatty acids.

________*The product ZANTHIN® used in this formula is protected by an international patent and is known for its capacity to slow down damages to eyes and the nervous system caused by free radicals.

Ocean+ Omega3 : A supplement with added value

  • Blend of cold-water fish oils of pharmaceutical grade with high potency EPA (350 mg) and DHA (250 mg), for a total of 600 mg per capsule. The first ingredient (fish oil) has its own DIN number.
  • The preparation of the ultra-pure wild fish oil is done by using a patented process that eliminates contaminants.
  • Ocean+ Omega3 is manufactured in a pharmaceutical installation according to GMP standards.
  • Omega-3 fatty acids are protected from oxidation by adding to the formula phosphatidylcholine that decomposes peroxides, natural Vitamin E and astaxanthin, one of the most powerful naturally-occuring liposoluble antioxidant.
  • Natural astaxanthin comes from the algae Haematococcus pluvialis (Zanthin®). In Ocean+ Omega3, astaxanthin has a high concentration of 0.5 mg per capsule.
  • Phosphatidylcholine, astaxanthin and Vitamin E not only reduce oxidation of Omega-3 fatty acids contained in the capsule, but would also prevent multiplication of free radicals in the body (oxidative stress) that are frequently involved in triggering the onset of several health problems.
  • Ocean+ Omega3 supplies an optimal and safe nutritional intake of Omega-3 fatty acids by preventing the intake of contaminants that are found in the flesh of wild or cultivated fish.

Ocean+ Omega3 is a superior and exclusive formula that combines all of the benefits that the informedconsumer is looking for.
